Nazaré Tours & Activities | Discover Portugal's Famous Beach

Nestled along Portugal’s scenic Silver Coast, Nazaré is a charming fishing town famed for its dramatic sea cliffs, traditional culture, and world-class waves. With its relaxing beaches, fresh seafood, and friendly atmosphere, it’s a destination that beautifully balances tradition and adventure.

History and Tradition

Once a small village dependent on the sea, Nazaré has preserved a strong connection to its maritime roots. Local women can still be seen wearing the iconic seven skirts, while old fishing boats line the sandy shores. Over time, Nazaré became famous for its surf scene, attracting travelers from around the world.

Best Time to Visit

If you enjoy surfing or are eager to witness massive waves, visit between October and March when the Atlantic swells are at their peak. For sunbathing and relaxed seaside vibes, the warm summer months from June to September are ideal.

Is Nazaré only about surfing?

No, while the giant waves attract surfers, there’s much more to enjoy: explore scenic viewpoints, stroll the charming streets, savor local cuisine, or simply unwind on the beach.
